We run Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud — the tier built for managed service providers to run cyber protection across many client environments from one console, rather than the standalone desktop product. It combines backup with active threat defence in a single agent, rather than running separate backup and antivirus tools that don't talk to each other: Acronis's Active Protection technology behaviourally detects ransomware encryption activity in real time and rolls affected files back to their pre-encryption state, alongside vulnerability assessment that flags unpatched software before it becomes an entry point. Coverage spans both servers and endpoints, so a laptop and a production server are protected under the same policy rather than two separate systems.
Backup copies replicate by default to our own Acronis storage cluster here in Botswana, which keeps regulated data in-country without you having to think about it — Acronis's EU cloud is available, but only when a client specifically asks for it, not as a silent default. Per-customer usage is visible now and is being built into the client portal we're bringing online, so you'll be able to see backup status and protection coverage without waiting for us to report it to you.

Is cloud cheaper than running our own servers?
Usually — but honestly, it depends. Cloud turns a capital purchase into a predictable monthly cost and removes the expenses on-premise budgets forget: UPS and generator power, cooling, the three-to-five-year hardware refresh, and the IT hours that keep it all alive. For most teams the five-year comparison favours cloud; for large, stable workloads owning can still win. We run that comparison on your numbers before recommending either.
Is it legal to keep our data outside Botswana?
The Data Protection Act, 2024 restricts transferring personal data outside Botswana unless the destination country is on the approved list or another lawful mechanism applies — and it requires a copy of transferred personal data to be retained in Botswana during processing. That is exactly why Replic8's local hosting exists: regulated data stays in-country while productivity workloads run on Microsoft's cloud, and we map which data belongs where.
What is CSP licensing and why buy Microsoft through a partner?
CSP is Microsoft's Cloud Solution Provider programme: you buy Microsoft 365 and Azure through a local partner instead of directly. What happens to the cloud when our internet goes down?

How long does a cloud migration take, and how much downtime?
