Say hello to ZebTec — the official AI ambassador of AccTech Botswana, proudly Powered by 4Sight. Born from Botswana's national symbol, the zebra, and AccTech's spirit of innovation, ZebTec is the friendly digital face you'll meet when you message us on WhatsApp.

This post is about what ZebTec actually does, and — more interesting — what we deliberately designed it not to do.

What ZebTec stands for

  • Zebra pride. A reflection of Botswana's unity, resilience and balance — and a mascot that wears its answers in black and white.
  • Technology excellence. Backed by AccTech's seventeen years of implementing the systems Botswana businesses run on.
  • Human touch. Intelligent, polite and conversational — a bridge between technology and people, not a wall in front of them.

What ZebTec does

Message AccTech on WhatsApp and ZebTec answers first — because in Botswana, WhatsApp is where business conversations actually happen. From there its job is simple and disciplined:

  • It finds out who you are and what you need. Sales enquiry, support issue, accounts question or something else — and which system it concerns: Sage, Acumatica, PaySpace, Microsoft, cloud.
  • It gets you to the right human, fast. Once your enquiry is qualified, ZebTec hands the conversation — with all its context — to the right AccTech team. No re-explaining from the beginning.
  • It recognises an emergency. Say "our payroll system is down" and ZebTec skips the questionnaire entirely: straight to the support team, marked urgent.
  • It steps aside on request. Ask for a person at any point and you get one, immediately and graciously.
  • It goes quiet once a human has you. After handover, ZebTec stays silent. One conversation, one voice — no bot talking over your consultant.

What we designed it NOT to do

This is the part we're most deliberate about. ZebTec does not pretend to know things. It doesn't quote prices. It doesn't improvise answers about your account or invent product claims. If you ask a product question mid-conversation it will give you one useful, approved sentence — and then connect you to the expert who can give you the full one.

Most chatbots fail in exactly the opposite direction: they try to answer everything, get it confidently wrong, and burn the trust the business spent years building. We implement ERP systems for a living — we know precisely how expensive a confidently wrong answer is. So ZebTec's measure of success is not "questions answered by a bot"; it is how quickly you reached the right human, with your context already understood.

Designed, tested and tuned in Gaborone

ZebTec isn't an off-the-shelf widget switched on and forgotten. Its instructions, routing rules and knowledge are designed and maintained by our team in Gaborone, version-controlled like the software we build, and tested like it too — scripted test conversations for the happy path, the emergency path, the "let me talk to a person" path and the quiet-customer path, re-run before anything changes in production.

That matters for the same reason the rest of our About page does: the people who tune how ZebTec behaves are the same people who know your business context — here, on a support contract, not three time zones away.

Where this is going

Today ZebTec is a brilliant receptionist. The roadmap is for it to become a genuinely knowledgeable colleague — answering from the business systems we implement, with the same discipline every AccTech capability ships with: scoped, tested, signed off. Watch this space.

Want to meet ZebTec? Message us on WhatsApp — and when you're ready for a human, one is a sentence away.
